BET Black+Iconic Soirée: Jordan E. Cooper received the prestigious Prime Creator Award

BET's "BLACK+ ICONIC SOIREE" on January 14, 2023, at Flourish Atlanta was a grand celebration that unfolded with sophistication and glamour. The evening commenced with the Black Carpet opening where guests, including notable figures like Towanda Braxton, Million Dolla Keii, Tanya Sam, Ashley Renee, Sunni Dread, Derek Jae, Miss Lawerence, and Gary with the Tee, reveled in the elegance of the occasion. The Cocktail Hour, starting at the same time, set the stage for a night filled with excitement and camaraderie, while the event featured moments like the BET Social Impact Moment by Dr. Marcus Hunter and entertainment by DJ Princess Cuts and the dynamic host, Nicco Annan.

Following the engaging start, a sumptuous 3 Course Dinner Service created an ambiance of sophistication and enjoyment. The carefully curated menu featured culinary delights, including a Mixed Greens and Chopped Romaine Salad, Red Wine Braised Short Rib or Salmon as the entrée, and a delectable Chocolate Cake or Peach Cobbler for dessert. The attention to detail in the menu reflected the overall commitment to offering a memorable culinary experience.

The highlight of the evening was the Awards Program, where Jordan E. Cooper received the prestigious Prime Creator Award. Cooper's outstanding achievements in playwriting, acting, and directing, including a Broadway debut with "Ain't No Mo'" and the creation of the Emmy Award-nominated sitcom "The Ms. Pat Show," were acknowledged. Other influential figures like Miss Major, Rashad Burgess, and Dr. David Johns were also honored for their significant contributions in their respective fields, emphasizing their impact on the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond.

The night continued with a Closing Performance by Kiana Ledé, adding a touch of musical brilliance to the already dazzling affair. Flourish Atlanta, with its opulent setting, served as the perfect backdrop for this remarkable occasion. The afterparty, hosted by Kim Paige, BET EVP, and CMO, began immediately after the event, promising to extend the night's festivities.
