The Dark Horse Rising (Youth Financial Education Center)

In a world where financial literacy is often overlooked in traditional education, The Dark Horse Rising is changing the game. The curriculum created by K. Alexandra Escobar (who is the founder of the organization) isn’t just about teaching kids how to save and budget—it’s about transforming them into financially savvy, career-ready, and goal-oriented leaders who can build generational wealth and take control of their futures.

Designed for young minds between the ages of 12-17, The Dark Horse Rising offers an immersive, interactive, self-paced learning experience featuring real-world financial scenarios, strategic decision-making challenges, and certifications that set participants apart. More than just knowledge, this program opens doors—graduates gain access to exclusive spots in the Path to Prosperity & Wealth Building Academy (where students engage in an in-person environment and explore financial concepts in-depth), and letters of recommendation, helping them step into the real world with confidence.

But The Dark Horse Rising isn’t for the passive learner; it’s for the ambitious, the bold, the ones ready to take risks and rise, those who were born to lead. Even 18-19-year-olds can earn a spot by showcasing their vision and determination through a written application.

This is more than financial education—it’s a movement.

The Dark Horse Rising was founded by K. Alexandra Escobar, who holds the title of Miss Clayton County 2024 and has actively been working within her community to build the next generation up for success. Miss Escobar graduated from Lovejoy High School in Clayton County and has experienced firsthand what the education system in Georgia is like, but most importantly, what the students are learning in under-served communities, and this is something she wants to change.
