A night to remember: Black love, excellence, and beauty

They need no introduction, but for those of you who just might not know here’s a quick introduction: Tamika Scott, born on November 19, 1975, in College Park, Georgia, is an American singer-songwriter, actress, and ordained minister. She gained prominence in the early 1990s as a member of the R&B group Xscape, alongside her sister LaTocha Scott, Kandi Burruss, and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle. Xscape achieved significant success with hits like “Who Can I Run To” and “The Arms of the One Who Loves You,” both of which earned gold and platinum certifications from the RIAA.

During the group’s hiatus, Tamika ventured into acting, appearing in Tyler Perry’s stage production “Meet the Browns” in 2004. She reunited with Xscape in 2017 for “The Great Xscape Tour” and later formed Xscap3, releasing the EP “Here for It” in 2018. In addition to her music career, Tamika launched her own line of seasonings called Southern Fuse and authored a cookbook titled “Table Set: A Taste of South in Your Mouth.”

Tamika Scott has been married to Darnell Winston (Bigg Winston) since 2004. Together, they have three children. Their relationship is characterized by a strong partnership, with Tamika often expressing her admiration and affection for Darnell in interviews and public appearances. The couple’s enduring bond is evident in their shared moments, such as attending events together and supporting each other’s endeavors.

Bigg Winston, is a musician known for his singles like “Big Boy Anthem” and collaborations with artists such as Terrell Carter and Pastor John Gray. He has also worked with Tamika Scott on tracks like “Black Queens Stand Up,” highlighting their musical synergy. There are certain nights that don’t just happen—they resonate. The Love & Lifestyle Magazine cover reveal for the iconic Tamika Scott and her husband Bigg Winston was one of those divine evenings. A full-body experience of Black love, Black excellence, and unapologetic beauty, this event was more than a celebration—it was a cultural moment.

From the moment we stepped into the space, the energy was magnetic. The music, the conversations, the fashion, the energy—it all flowed in harmony, creating an atmosphere that was both elevated and deeply rooted in love and legacy. The vibes? Unmatched.

Tamika Scott absolutely glowed, standing side-by-side with her partner, Bigg Winston oin purpose, embodying grace, strength, and the essence of lasting love. Their chemistry, their story, and their presence reminded us all what it means to be powerful together. It wasn’t just a cover—it was a message. A tribute to thriving in love, in life, and in purpose.

We are beyond grateful to Love & Lifestyle Magazine and owner Katrina T. Marie for the invitation. On behalf of In the City Magazine, we were honored to witness and celebrate such a meaningful moment. Being in a space filled with elegance, joy, and an undeniable sense of community was something I’ll never forget.

Seeing so many remarkable individuals show up in support and solidarity was deeply inspiring. It reminded me of why we do what we do—because representation matters, love matters, and celebrating one another will always be in style.

Here’s to more nights drenched in Black brilliance.

Here’s to the beauty of real love.

And here’s to continuing to show the world just how powerful our presence truly is.

Cheers to more moments of Black excellence, magic, and love.
