The 2nd Annual Southside Day, held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at East Point City Hall, was a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and connection. Presented by Yung Joc, Torrey 100, and Ray Daniels, the event transformed the civic space into a lively block party from 2 PM to 8 PM. With temperatures reaching highs, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation. The gathering attracted thousands of attendees from across Atlanta and neighboring counties, all eager to partake in the festivities. This year's event was not just about entertainment; it was a testament to the power of community and the importance of giving back.

At the heart of the event was Yung Joc, whose passion for uplifting his community was evident throughout the day. Known for his charisma on Love & Hip Hop and Streetz 94.5’s Morning Takeover, Joc engaged the crowd with sing-alongs, crowd call-outs, impromptu jokes, and heartfelt moments. His presence set the tone for the event, making it feel like a homecoming for many attendees. The lineup also featured performances by Mykko Montana, Dae Dae, Derez De’Shon, Rozay da Yungsta, AM Moni, OJ Da Juiceman, and Fabo with NuFace front row and center.

Beyond the music, Southside Day was a platform for community empowerment and support. Thanks to a generous donation from Atlanta rap star Gunna, the Southside Day team gave away 1,000 tablets to local families and students, providing access to digital resources that many might not have had otherwise. Additionally, Crash to Cash awarded college scholarships to local teens, empowering the next generation of leaders. Residents also had the opportunity to register for a chance to have their water bills paid, offering practical support to families facing financial challenges.

The event also emphasized civic engagement and recognition. Elected officials from multiple cities and counties attended, reinforcing the importance of community involvement. The Mayor of East Point delivered official proclamations to 2 Chainz and Don P of Trillville, honoring their contributions to the music industry and community. This gesture highlighted the event's commitment to acknowledging and celebrating local talent and leaders.
In addition to the performances and giveaways, Southside Day featured a Kid’s Corner filled with games and activities, a DJ competition, and a tribute tent honoring cultural figures who’ve shaped the community. Food trucks offered a variety of local cuisines, and vendors showcased merchandise reflecting southside pride. Streetz 94.5 broadcasted live from the event, bringing even more star power with appearances from Mz Shyneka, Shawty Shawty, DJ Swin, and Flex Gang Slim. The day's blend of music, food, and community spirit made it a memorable celebration of Atlanta's southside.
