Why Women Are Traveling Across the Country for Lori Dior’s PDO Sculpt

MIAMI — On a recent visit to Lori Dior’s Miami beauty business, I met women who had traveled hundreds of miles for something they believed was worth the trip: another session of Lori Dior’s PDO Sculpt. Clients I spoke with had traveled from Ohio, Georgia and New York, returning for a second treatment after experiencing the service previously. They told me they liked the results from their first visit, particularly the way they felt the treatment addressed dents and enhanced the shape of their bodies. Their journeys offered a glimpse into the growing appeal of destination beauty services, where clients are willing to travel far beyond their hometowns for a particular provider.

Lori says her PDO Sculpt is designed for clients who want more shape and does not involve injections. According to the services she says she provides, her menu includes a Mini Butt Lift PDO Sculpt, focused on either the hips or buttocks, as well as a PDO Full Lift & Sculpt for the hips and buttocks. She also lists Waist Slimming  and Ice Sculpting + Lymphatic Full Body among her services. Lori says the PDO services are intended to sculpt and enhance the body's existing shape rather than rely on injections.

The women I spoke with described their experiences in personal terms. Some said they had areas they considered dents or unevenness and felt that their first treatment helped improve the appearance of those areas. Others talked more broadly about wanting additional shape and definition. None described themselves as medical experts, and their experiences are personal accounts rather than independent clinical evaluations. But their decision to return for another session was clear.

For clients arriving from Ohio, Georgia and New York, the appointment was more than a quick stop at a neighborhood beauty business. They had planned a trip around a service they already knew from personal experience. Their return suggested that the first visit had left them sufficiently satisfied to make the journey again. In the beauty industry, where social media can introduce clients to providers hundreds or thousands of miles away, geography is increasingly less of a barrier. A provider's reputation, online presence and word-of-mouth can turn a local service into a destination.

Lori has also been clear about an issue that has become central to the public conversation surrounding her business: injections. She says she does not provide illegal injections and emphasizes that her PDO Sculpt service is not an injection procedure. She also disputes the characterization of PDO as an infection, saying that PDO is not an infection. Her explanation is important when describing exactly what services she says she offers and how she distinguishes PDO Sculpt from injection-based procedures.

Recent news reports have raised allegations involving injection procedures connected to the Miami operation of Lori Dior Med Spa. Local 10 and NBC 6 South Florida reported that authorities arrested Latonya Shanice Starks in September 2026 and made allegations involving unlicensed procedures and clients who authorities say experienced serious complications. Those reports concern allegations made by law enforcement and should not be treated as established facts beyond what has been determined through the legal process. Lori disputes the characterization of her services as illegal injections.

I was able to meet with Lori after her release from being arrested this past Saturday. The clients I met were specifically discussing PDO Sculpt and their reasons for returning. They told me they liked their previous results and wanted to continue enhancing their shape. Still, their stories help explain the appeal of a service that has attracted clients from several states. For these women, the decision to return was rooted in their own experience.

The Lori Dior brand has also existed for years before the current scrutiny. A 2019 profile of Lori Dior described her work in the beauty industry and highlighted body sculpting as an important part of her business. Online material associated with the brand has promoted body-sculpting services and beauty education as well. That history helps put today's traveling clientele into context. The women arriving from Ohio, Georgia and New York are part of a broader audience that has encountered the Lori Dior name beyond Miami.

Ultimately, what stood out during my visit was the distance these clients were willing to travel for a second appointment. They had experienced PDO Sculpt once, said they liked the way their bodies looked afterward and chose to come back. Their stories reflect the deeply personal nature of beauty treatments, where satisfaction is often measured first through the eyes of the person receiving the service. Having been doing this for so long with thousands of clients under her belt the message is clear. For Lori, the distinction is straightforward: she says her PDO Sculpt is about sculpting and shaping, and she says it involves no injections.
