Atlanta's music community gathered in full force on June 17 as BMI hosted its exclusive #1 Party, recognizing the creative forces behind some of today's most celebrated records. The event honored A Chic and Derrick Milano for their contributions to BTS's "Swim," while Akil "WorldwideFresh" King was recognized for his work on "Ever Since U Left Me" by French Montana and Max B. Held in an intimate setting designed to spotlight songwriting excellence, the gathering brought together executives, artists, managers, media personalities, and tastemakers from across the entertainment industry. Guests spent the afternoon celebrating achievements that often happen behind the scenes but ultimately shape the soundtrack of popular culture. Sponsored by Patrón and Shure, the event blended recognition, networking, and industry camaraderie into one memorable experience.

One of the most talked-about moments of the afternoon came as legendary music executive Steve Lobel made his way through the room, greeting attendees and sharing conversations with some of the industry's rising and established figures. Known for his decades-long influence in hip-hop and artist development, Lobel's presence underscored the significance of the occasion. Throughout the event, he engaged with guests, offering encouragement and insight while celebrating the achievements of the honorees. The atmosphere reflected the collaborative nature of the music business, where relationships remain as important as the records themselves. Every corner of the venue buzzed with discussions about publishing, artist growth, and the future of the industry.

Adding to the energy was Mr. Daniel Dickey, founder and owner of The Resource Guild, whose presence highlighted the importance of business networking and community-building within entertainment. Dickey spent the afternoon connecting creatives, executives, and entrepreneurs while documenting moments that showcased the spirit of the event. Also in attendance was Ashley Renee, daughter of comedian and actress Ms. Pat, who joined fellow guests in celebrating the accomplishments of the honored songwriters and producers. The event drew a diverse crowd representing multiple sectors of the entertainment business, creating opportunities for meaningful conversations and new collaborations. The gathering served as a reminder that Atlanta continues to be one of the most influential hubs for music, media, and culture.
