Celebrating Kelan & Vinny Watson Day in Style By Olivia J. Price

On June 18, Atlanta’s vibrant energy reached a new peak as the City of Atlanta officially declared it “Kelan & Vinny Watson Day”, honoring the dynamic sibling duo behind the city’s hottest spots: V12 Restaurant & Sports Bar and Sovereign Sweets. The day’s celebration, taking place at V12 (610 Spring St NW), was an affirmation of Black entrepreneurship, excellence, and legacy—an unforgettable experience I was thrilled to witness firsthand.

🏛️ A City Honors Its Own

Scrolling through their Instagram posts, the excitement was palpable:

• V12’s IG captured the moment succinctly: “June 18th has officially been declared Kelan & Vinny Watson Day. Join us as we celebrate…” .

• Kelan and Vinny’s own feeds echoed the same, highlighting the pride and impact of this recognition .

🍸 Elevation in Every Detail

Walking into V12, the opulence hit you instantly. Atop a BP gas station in Midtown, this 7,500 sq ft venue redefines the sports bar concept:

  • Luxurious imported furnishings from Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands.

  • A stunning ceiling-lit Lamborghini, a nod to their collaboration with Quavo’s “Lamb Talk” on The Tonight Show  .

  • Two intimate VIP rooms—‘The Kelan’ and ‘The Vinny’—offering personalized service, each seating up to 30 guests  .

  • A retractable rooftop, more than 20 HDTVs, and both valet and self-parking make this a destination spot  .

🌈 A Legacy of Inclusion & Excellence

This day wasn’t just about glitz—it was a celebration of impact. Kelan and Vinny are proud owners of Sovereign Sweets, Atlanta’s premiere dessert and cocktail lounge championing LGBTQ+ inclusivity. Vinny, uniquely as a Black openly queer entrepreneur, emphasized the importance of safe spaces that welcome everyone equally . As he stated, “If [V12] wasn’t a space that was safe for my community, then what am I doing?” .

Their journey—from Sovereign to V12, bringing in Quavo as a partner—has been deeply rooted in community trust and excellence.
